Developed with dermatologists, CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum for post-blemish dark spots and pores is formulated to be gentle yet effective. Enriched with three essential ceramides, soothing niacinamide, encapsulated retinol, and liquorice root extract that helps with uneven skin tone and texture by reducing the appearance of post-blemish marks, reducing the appearance of pores, and improving overall radiance for a healthy-looking complexion. This serum for post-blemish marks and hyperpigmentation is suitable to all skin types, however, is best used on mild acne-prone, combination and oily skin types.

Encapsulated retinol- A derivative of vitamin A, encapsulated retinol is enveloped in a barrier that allows for a ‘slow release’ of retinol, meaning that it does not work as soon as it touches the skin, but works from within the layers of the skin. This helps retinol to be absorbed better into the skin and reduce any potential irritation to the skin that is normally seen with regular retinols. Encapsulated retinol also helps with efficacy and stability as the enveloped barrier helps reduce exposure to air or light. Retinol has many benefits for the skin such as promoting cell renewal, visibly reducing fine-lines, and wrinkles, visibly reducing pigmentation, dark spots and more.
Ceramides- Ceramides are a type of lipids that are naturally found in the top-most layer of the skin. The lipids that make up this layer act as the skin’s moisture barrier, that not only helping to lock-in moisture but also acting as a barrier to protect the skin from free radicals, environmental factors, pollutants, and moisture loss.
Niacinamide- Also known as Vitamin B3, Niacinamide helps support the skin moisture barrier function and has many benefits with exfoliating properties, helping the skin look brighter, reducing fine-lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, & texture and more. Niacinamide helps hydrate the skin and has antioxidant benefits such as supporting the skin moisture barrier function against free radicals.
How to use:
1. Start with a hydrating face cleanser such as the CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser.
2. Make sure to use an eye cream, before using 1-2 pumps of the resurfacing retinol serum and applying all over face and neck.
3. Follow with a hydrating serum such as the CeraVe Hyaluronic Acid Serum and a hydrating moisturiser such as the CeraVe Ceramides Moisturising Cream.
4. For those with oily, combination or mild acne-prone skin types, use this retinol serum for dark spots, post-blemish marks and managing excess sebum. Use 1-2 times daily in the morning and/or evening. For those with normal, sensitive, or dry skin types, use once daily at night or every other night.
Note: If you are new to a chemical exfoliant such as retinol, start with application of the retinol serum a few times a week at night, moving up to daily, to help build tolerance.
Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen while using this product.
Avoid contact with eyes & lips. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
